yellow vacation

Vacation. VACATION. Time off. Time OFF. I love this.

I took care of errands on Monday, which made me feel a lot better that things were getting taken care of. And in AWESOME news, we were finally offered that apartment I spoke of in this post and painted my apple painting for. We even went and saw it on Monday and my oh my. I am thrilled. It's HUGE compared to our current hobbit hole and filled with light! It's on the sixth floor (we're currently on ground level) and has a view of the tops of trees and even a tiny bit of lake!! Right now we live next to a high traffic back door so our curtains are almost always drawn...it'll be so nice to be able to let the light in and not worry about showcasing messy rooms. Lol!

We move in September...can't wait!! Added bonus, this harbor is in close walking distance...as in we're going to pass it every day on our way home. :)
Oh and the kitchen is old -- but no 70s yellow cabinets!!! WIN!

Yesterday was spent flea marketing. We walked all over town stopping in at the flea markets we passed...and I found a lot of stuff I wanted but felt too poor for (yeah, I'm a pennypincher even at flea markets, so what) but I did walk away with this.

Isn't it purdy?
I was suprising myself quite a bit yesterday though. I was obsessed with retro print and yellow and orange. Not really the kind of stuff I'd ever think I'd be fondling and considering bringing into my green and blue contemporary home...especially since I've always hated yellow. But nooo, here it is, creeping into my house, into my favorite colors.
We went to Ikea too, ya know, because we had to go look at all the stuff we want for the next apartment (teeheeheee gotta start planning early) and I walked away with YELLOW napkins of all things.

How's that for a kitchen table?

And guess what pictures I took yesterday while we were walking around downtown? Mostly YELLOW AND ORANGE flower pictures. Oh gee, this is getting bad.

Although I did take a few pictures that weren't yellow.

But you know what worries me the most? I started crocheting these granny squares last night.

Not sure what these squares are going to be. Maybe a cushion, maybe a little blanket. But I figure I may as well use these bright colors up before I go to the states in October and buy some more giant skeins.

And yes, I know these are kind of loud colors together...but that is what the dark red and blue are for, to tone down the turquoise and orange and YELLOW. Haha, this is madness.

Well, I best be off and running, leases to sign and what not. :)

Thanks for reading, hoping your day is of the warm yellow sunny kind, too.
