It has been 366 days of year one of our marriage. Thanks leap year!
And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the best husband a girl could hope for!
I remember it started out hard to adapt to writing a different last name, let alone remembering to say it! It wasn't hard however to adapt to having a husband...and being a wife! I have loved it!
I've heard that the first year of marriage is one of the hardest... Looks like we are fortunate because I think this has actually been the best year of our relationship so far! :)
I mentioned in a previous post that I would share some of my favorite wedding photos in honor of our first anniversary.
So here they are!
Adding the last touches in the back room of the church. It looks weird to me now that I am only wearing one ring!
Thanks again to my fabulous hair stylist! ;)
Walking down the aisle with the realization that I am missing something... Ummm... the bouquet?
Oh ****
Hahaha...!
I have always been impressed by the quaint coziness of this church. I love the atmosphere. I love that we had a church wedding despite the last-minuteness of our plans and the fact that we aren't all that religious. There was a nice sense of seriousness in the air though, despite our funny mix-ups and mistakes.
Everything I said, I meant.
Funny mix-up and mistake?
Oh, I just put the ring on the wrong hand... And then it got stuck... Hahahah!
Then we both messed up the vows.
We are still laughing about this...
After it all. Husband and wife. ♥
The outside of the church.
I was hoping for a sunny spring day (like today!). But nooooo, we had a gray and ugly day weather-wise.
I bought the dress online without ever trying it on. Talk about scary! It ended up fitting really well though, I certainly shouldn't have given them slightly larger measurements in case of errors...because this dress was spot on!
It was simple and sweet.
And the chiffon felt like I was a princess!
I love this picture. My brother took it. :)
One of the first pictures my husband took of me as his wife. :)
My gorgeous bouquet that my mama made. I still think it is so beautiful and perfect for the day and the time of the year!
With the reception being at my parent's home, they broke out the super fancy china. So beautiful!
I got to bake my own wedding cakes. It was something I was actually really happy about. My mother-in-law was so awesome that she made all the decorations out of royal icing the day before. It was such a good thing she had taken cake decorating classes the previous year!
We still have a piece of cake that my parents put in the freezer for us. It's thawing now. :)
And here is us... dying of shame, forced to dance when we four left feet between the two of us. Oh how we laughed!
Ah, it was everything I could have hoped for. I highly recommend having a small wedding with only the people you want there with you, only the things you want to do and really making the day about just the two of you. We had a really selfish wedding in that sense and we will never regret it!
It was so special to put more effort into our honeymoon which was the most amazing 10 days ever. We got to explore, enjoy and spend every moment together without the tasks or responsibilities of daily life. So important!
Thanks for stopping by and reading, I'm glad I finally got to share this day here, too!
It was such a beautiful day, I almost have tears running down my cheek while reading this :)! Happy anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I still love my hair in all these pictures, you did such a good job! :)
