in a rush!

This week has been kicking my ass, so much to do between nursing school and chemistry night classes that my crocheting is getting put on the back burner! ;(
However, I thought I'd share what my progress has been since the last time I posted.

I started crocheting a beanie, which took on the shape of a triangle. Hmm...I had read the directions completely wrong! Ugh, you can only imagine my frustration. My fiance said it looked mushroom-y. Not the look I was going for needless to say. Fortunately I figured out my mistake and was able to fix it, but that meant undoing over half of what I had already done! I ran out of the yarn though that I want to use, only bought 50g worth so I guess it's off to the store to buy more for that project. Here's a picture of where I am with it. I looooove the color. My dumb camera does it no justice, they are a lot richer looking!

My other project that I am trying to do in my spare time (=the 3 hours at night before I have to go to bed, that is, IF I've done my homework), is another cat. This time it's a black one for my mom's friend who's birthday is coming up. She, like me, has a black cat with white on it's chest and for "pubes" as I like to put it. So I plan on adding white patches to the appropriate places when I am done. As for the eyes, the ONE craft store we have in the WHOLE CITY has only ONE pair of cat eyes to choose from, they are small and green and the ones I bought for my brown cat. My mom's friend's cat has orange eyes. My solution: I'm going to crochet orange circles and try to sew a cat pupil shape onto it. Should be interesting to see how it turns out. I really wish I lived in Florida and could go to Michael's or JoAnn's or even wal-mart. I'm sure the crafting selection at those places is the stuff my dreams are made of. Can't wait to go back and visit, I can already tell my luggage will be overweight with all the things on my wish list. And that is just the crafting wish list alone. Excluding all food and clothing items. =D

Another small project I did was for my sister who does digital scrapbooking through creative memories (it's the program she uses). She asked for some fall pictures to use for a digital scrapbooking nerd weekend she's going to in a couple weeks. I've been waiting for the one sunny day to take pictures so here is a representation of what it's like here in September (at it's best).

Well, thanks for reading! Hopefully I can post this weekend some pictures of my finished cat or beanie.

Pictures!!

Yaaaaaay!!!
I figured out how to add pictures, who know it was that handy "insert image" icon (haha).

Here are some quick snapshots of my crocheted kitty cat, finished today. Also, some pictures of my cupcake (in "full nipple form" and with it pushed down). Laugh out loud if you please. I am so ridiculously proud of these creations, my first amigurumi. =) I wish we had a better camera though. I had no idea I needed a really fancy one until I borrowed my friend's fancy pants camera for the weekend and took only about 500 pictures of my pets hahahahha... I'll even add a couple here. I have to share their cuteness!

Next, I think I'd better start putting together ideas for a hat, winter is fast approaching!!! Or I could crochet something cute for the dog... or I could try another cat -- or heck, another amigurumi pattern all together! Oh, if only I had more time, I'd do them all in quick succession. (If wishes were pies, I'd be hella huge...!)

kitty cat from the front (didn't realize sewing eyes without them getting wonky was so friggin' hard)

kitty cat BUTT
my first amigurumi, I dub thee: "nipple cupcake"

I love this picture. I think she has the kindest eyes I've ever seen!
